What you need to know

There is a £40 admin fee to help towards postage, press, publicity, printing and venue hire.

• Approximately ten actors will perform at each London Bites.

• There is a short rehearsal the week before, with our director, and a full

days Tech and Dress at the venue.

• The stage is 10 feet across and 12 feet deep.

• Bring props and costumes that are appropriate but no furniture, simple

furniture such as tables and chairs can be provided.

• You will have the opportunity to volunteer to take part in Stand and

Deliver – the improvisation section at the end of each show.

It’s all about the Piece, guidelines for choosing your piece.

•Perform comedy (not stand-up), drama, or tragedy, new or classical

and from film or theatre. We also welcome new writing.

•Be unique, bold and experimental. We are NOT looking for

monologue pieces from audition books. Pieces with a journey are

  preferred.

•Remember that the night is about entertaining an audience, choose

something that stands alone, that the audience can quickly enjoy.

•It's a very god idea to come and see London Bites before applying-

get a feel for what the audience enjoys and how the space works.

•If you would like to do something that the audience may have seen

many times before e.g. Hamlet, consider how you may give it a twist

and try something new with it. Detail this in your cover letter to us.

•Please do not send the whole script because we will not have time to read it. All that matters to us is the section you would like to

perform, if we don’t understand or get excited about it from that

We receive a lot of applications. Each event needs to have the correct mix of performances so if you are not chosen to audition/perform at first you may resubmit as often as you like- try sending a different piece.
