Workshop Information
Phil Shaw
Originally trained as an actor then formed his own successful agency. Phil casts mostly TV and film, recent projects LOVE AND VIRTUE starring John Malkovich and ROMANS 12.20. Currently working on an unnamed film and TV mini series. Phil also runs a successful one-to-one consultancy for actors.
In this workshop Phil will work in detail on audition technique, looking at how to present yourself and individual audition pieces. Actors will each get the chance to perform an audition monologue to the group and recieve feedback and constructive criticism to improve their chances in castings. There may also be an opportunity to do some mock auditions. For this session you are required to come with an audition speech pre-prepared to
work on with Phil. The piece is your choice but please keep it to 3/4 minutes max, something you have used or would use in a theatre audition.
The workshop will end with a review of the session, general advice and a Q and A on any subject which the actors wish to pursue. The workshop will benefit all professional and graduate actors.

In this workshop you will get the opportunity to work in detail on the TV casting process. You will 'get on your feet' with recent scripts Amanda has cast and recieve feedback and tips to help you in the fast paced world of TV casting. There may also be an opportunity rarely given, to watch back your tape! This gives invaluable insight into where you may be going wrong in castings. This workshop will be of benefit to all actors and graduates wanting to work in TV. Nothing to prepare for this class, just bring yourself and be ready to work.
